The first Finnair flights between Helsinki and Luxembourg actually started already in 1964. Now, the first flight in over 30 years was kicked off on Tuesday 31st March, that launched two weekly flights between the capitals - to be continued with one additional flight per week during summer season.
From October 2026 onwards, the route will be regular with 4 weekly flights.
To celebrate the occasion, Finnair organised in collaboration with Finland Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg, hosted at Meliá Hotels International. The event gathered around 60 people from the travel sector, Luxembourg ecosystem and FinChamLux corporate members.

Finland's Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, H.E. Jouko Leinonen joined the ribbon cutting and the inaugural flight from Luxembourg to Helsinki on 31st March as Finnair reopened the route.
