Finland Independence Day Reception 2025

Finland Independence Day Reception 2025

🇫🇮Finland's 108th Independence Day Reception in Luxembourg
- an event to celebrate all the many things that connect Finland and Luxembourg.

The independence day reception in Luxembourg was organised by Finland Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg and Finland Embassy to Belgium and Luxembourg.

We had the great honour of bringing together representatives from both countries; businesses, organisations, institutional partners, and our loyal community - altogether 130+ friends to celebrate Finland’s Independence Day. The monumental Cercle Cité in the heart of Luxembourg provided a truly elegant setting for the occasion.

At a time when the world can feel increasingly volatile, competitive, and at moments even threatening, it is innovation, collaboration, and trust that enable us to thrive, especially as small nations.

And we indeed have reasons to celebrate: our business ties continue to deepen, and from 2026 onwards Finland and Luxembourg will be even more physically connected, with two airlines Finnair and Luxair operating direct routes between our countries.

We enjoyed thoughtful words from His Excellency Jouko Leinonen, Ambassador of Finland to Luxembourg and Belgium, and Irene Mäkelä-Brunnekreef, President of the Finland Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg.

We had a pleasure to hear beautiful music, singing by Lili Wagner-Andrianne accompanied with violinist and cellist from the Young Southwest-Germany Philharmonics.
We were happy to welcome Anssi Partanen, Market Director at Finnair on stage, as one of our partners for our event.
Many thanks also to Mandatum for our collaboration for this event!

And of course - an evening like this is also about sharing tastes and stories. We enjoyed cocktail finger food crafted by local catering Traiteur Peitry, as well as delicate Finnish rainbow trout of Finnforel – LOHI, and a selection of Finnish cheeses by Jukolan Juusto
- all paired with elegant crémant from Bernard-Massard and refreshing Kuohu Artesian Waters - a perfect blend of Luxembourgish and Finnish quality and craft.

A warm thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening memorable. A warm thank you to the entire team of Embassy of Finland to Belgium and Luxembourg for this valuable collaboration, and to our main partners Mandatum - Finnair - tuomi for this event.
